Mashed Potatoes Topping

  • 4 cups mashed potatoes Leftover or freshly made.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the chopped onions and carrots; sauté until they're soft.

Cooking

  • Add the ground meat to the skillet and cook until browned.
  • Drain any excess fat.
  • Stir in beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, peas, salt, and pepper.
  • Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • Pour the meat mixture into a baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes on top.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the potatoes are golden brown.

Serving

  • Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, replace meat with lentils or mushrooms. Ensure to use gentle hands when making mashed potatoes to avoid a gluey texture.
