Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk Warm to 110°F
  • 1/4 cup butter Melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying Neutral oil like canola

Glaze Ingredients

  • 1-2 cups powdered sugar For glazing
  • 1/4 cup water For glaze

Preparation

  • In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it sit until frothy.
  • In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  • Add yeast mixture, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  • Mix to form a soft dough and knead for about 5 minutes.
  • Let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1-2 hours).
  • Roll out the dough and cut into doughnut shapes.
  • Let them rise again for about 30 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry the doughnuts until golden brown on both sides.

Glazing

  • In a bowl, mix powdered sugar with water to make a glaze.
  • Dip the warm doughnuts in the glaze and let cool before serving.

Notes

Tips: If your dough feels sticky, add a smidge more flour. Ensure the oil temperature is correct for best results.
