  • 2 slices slices of bread Sturdy, not limp
  • 2 slices slices of cheese Mozzarella or cheddar — both if you're feeling dramatic
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce Less sauce helps prevent sogginess
  • 1/4 cup turkey pepperoni slices Or other pizza toppings
  • Butter for spreading For the bread

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  • Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  • Place one slice, buttered side down, in the skillet.
  • Layer cheese, pizza sauce, and the desired pizza toppings on the bread.
  • Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.

Cooking

  • Cook until the bottom is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Flip and cook until the other side is golden and the cheese has melted.
  • Remove from the skillet, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

Using turkey pepperoni or veggies keeps the sandwich less greasy. Don't overload the sandwich, and music can help the cooking process feel more enjoyable!
