For the Brownies

  • 1 cup almond flour Can substitute with all-purpose flour.
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder Use high-quality cocoa for better flavor.
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup Adds natural sweetness.
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce Can substitute with unsweetened banana puree.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt Enhances flavor.

For the Ganache

  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips Use good quality chips for a richer ganache.
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter Adds creaminess to the ganache.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
  • In a bowl, mix together almond flour, cocoa powder, maple syrup, applesauce, vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt until smooth.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.

Baking

  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Ganache Preparation

  • Meanwhile, melt the dark chocolate chips and peanut butter together in a microwave or double boiler, stirring until smooth.
  • Once the brownies are cooled, pour the ganache over the top and spread evenly.

Serving

  • Allow to set before cutting into squares and serving.
  • Enjoy straight from the pan if desired!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-5 days. Can be frozen for up to a month. Ganache is essential for full flavor.
